This Privacy Policy applies to the chargEVect app (the “App”), developed and operated by VIA BOCA LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”).

The App does not currently use an account or sign-in system. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number. Instead, the App generates a random, anonymous device identifier stored only on your device, which cannot be linked back to your identity.

Location: The origin/destination addresses you enter when planning a route; and, only in the native mobile app, your GPS location while a trip is active (including in the background) so we can track your progress toward the next charging stop and detect when you go off-route. The web version does not perform live location tracking.

Approximate location (IP-based): Without asking for permission, we use a coarse, city-level location derived from your IP address to center the map on a plausible starting point.

Vehicle and charging preferences: The vehicle you select, its battery capacity, your starting charge percentage, and connector-type preferences — stored on your device.

Trip history and favorite stations: Routes you’ve previously planned and stations you’ve favorited — stored on your device, not sent to our servers.

Community charging-status reports: When you mark a station as “available / occupied / broken”, that report is stored on our server tied to your anonymous device identifier and shown to other users.

Push notification token: If you grant notification permission, your Expo push token is stored on our server together with your anonymous device identifier and a coarse country code, so we can send targeted notifications (e.g. a new sponsored stop or news item).

Subscriptions and payments: Premium subscription purchases are processed through the Apple App Store / Google Play and our payment infrastructure provider, RevenueCat. Your card details never pass through our servers.

Technical/usage data: Standard technical data that may be collected automatically at the device/OS level (Apple, Google), such as crash reports and basic usage statistics.

We do not sell your data. To operate the App, the following third-party service providers receive only the data necessary to perform their specific function:

• OpenChargeMap — charging station location and detail data • OpenRouteService — route/directions calculation (the locations you enter are sent to it) • ChargeIntel.eu — per-station kWh pricing data • MapTiler — map rendering • ipapi.co — IP-based approximate location lookup • RevenueCat — subscription and payment management • Expo — push notification delivery, via your push token

Each of these providers is governed by its own privacy policy.

Data we keep on your device (vehicle profile, trip history, favorites, device identifier) stays there until you delete the App or clear its data.

Data we keep on our servers (community status reports, push tokens) is retained for a reasonable period or until you request deletion.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or other applicable privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. Since your anonymous device identifier is not tied to an account, simply contact us at hello@chargevect.com along with the device identifier shown in the Profile tab to make a deletion request.

You can disable location and notification permissions at any time from your device’s Settings.

The App is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page and/or announced within the App.
